Truly Scrumptious Ragdoll Kittens are very sort after because of how they are raised – with so much love, care and socialisation – so I do almost always have a waiting list and my kittens are pretty much always born with the most loving homes already waiting for them! Wonderful futures already set! The way every baby should be born.

A lot of my kittens go to people who are coming back for their second, third or even fourth kitten (!!), or are people that have met my kittens at their friends places.

The deposits are $200 each and are non-refundable – but are transferable to any litters that I have (eg you can be on my waiting list for as long as you want until the perfect wee baby comes along for you!).

You will need to pay a deposit to secure your place on the waiting list so that you don’t miss out on one of my kittens.

Once you are on the waiting list you will be kept up to date with all of the exciting news as the mummies get pregnant and due dates get mentioned. When the kittens are born you will receive photos and videos of the kittens over their first 10 weeks so you can watch them growing.

The kittens are born totally white and over the first couple of weeks you can really see the colours and patterns emerge. Once I am 99% sure I know what colours, patterns and genders all the kittens are, the family who have first choice on the waiting list, eg the people who have been waiting the longest, get to choose. Once they have chosen the next family can choose and so on.

You definitely get to choose your baby and although I can help match the perfect kitten with your family, I wont choose it for you …unless that is what you want!

All of my kittens are equally as special, friendly and purrfect on the inside… its only the colours and patterns that really make them different at this young age.

Scrumptious Ragdoll Kittens are generally ready to leave for their new homes once they have reached 10 weeks old. By this age they are independent and their mums will have taught them the basics in life – cleaning themselves etc. They are also ready to be on their own at this age and wont pine for their mum and litter mates.

A kitten is a great pet and a wonderful source of endless companionship and entertainment for you – the owners. Two kittens double the pleasure of kitten ownership. They will romp and play together supplying you with hours of entertainment. It also takes the pressure off you having to keep up with their sometimes demanding constant playtime. When they are tired they will curl up and sleep together. If you work full time having two kittens keeping each other company can alleviate some of the guilt you feel by leaving them alone at home all day – Ragdolls don’t like being left alone as they are very social so another kitten or another pet is definitely recommended. Having two kittens also solves bedtime problems if you don’t want to share your bed with them. They are more likely to be happy to snuggle up together in their own bed rather than yours. Kittens brought up together usually form a lifelong bond and as adults will enjoy each other’s company.
Having said how wonderful it is to own two kittens it is just as acceptable to own just one. Your kitten will bond with you and offer you a life time of pleasure.

Each kitten, regardless of gender, has his or her own personality. While I do feel that “in general” females are more independent and boys are more smoochie, you can’t really pin a prejudice on boys or girls. We’ve had both affectionate males and affectionate females. It’s best to go by the individual kitten’s personality! Or go with what you like and what you want.

Scrumptious Ragdoll kittens LOVE children!! They are brought up around young children and love it! Our ragdolls are always kittens at heart and they just love the games and attention that children give them.

If your children are young, you should never leave them unattended with your Scrumptious Ragdoll kitten – Ragdolls are very gentle and almost never scratch – so if you’re young one hurts your Ragdoll kitten it will probably not defined itself and could get badly injured – they are too trusting!! Ensure you teach your children how to properly handle the kitten and provide the kitten with a safe place it can retreat to should it need to get away – a tall cat tree is a great place! Explain to your children that kittens & cats should never be disturbed if they are sleeping or eating.

I do sell Ragdoll kittens entire to registered breeders. If you are not registered I am happy to mentor you through the process – I have done this before and am happy to do it again.
I will not sell kittens to breeders who will keep their kittens in cages, locked in rooms or restrained from being a spoilt and loved ‘pet cat’ in anyway.

The name Ragdoll comes from the cats ability to become totally relaxed and limp like a child’s toy ragdoll. This characteristic is true. It is even more prevalent in mature Ragdolls than in kittens.

With the proper care and attention, a Ragdoll is no different from any other cat. They can live anywhere from 15 to 25 years of age.

Ragdolls do shed, however, despite their thick coat; Ragdolls lack a layer of under coat, and shed very little. Other breeds with similar coats, shed and need to be groomed almost 90% more than a Ragdoll – making them a very low-maintenance breed of long haired cat.

Ragdolls reach full maturity between 3 and 4 years of age. This is when they will reach maximum growth, which can, in some cases, be in excess of 20 pounds! They are considered the largest breed of domestic cat. Although their colours may be in fully by the time the cat reaches 2 years old.

– Transport by car

When you come to collect your Scrumptious Ragdoll Kitten from us you should bring a cat carrier. There are both economy and luxury versions available. A warm towel placed inside the carrier will create a safe haven for the kitten, which will have no real concept about the journey or its new home. It is important to use a cat carrier because a frightened kitten may panic when first placed in a vehicle with someone unfamiliar.
Position the carrier on you or your helper’s knees to prevent any sudden movements causing the carrier and kitten to be thrown about. It is important not to leave kitten unattended while it is inside the carrier. It is also vital to make sure that it cannot become either too hot or too cold.
If you have a long journey home for the kitten you should also bring a food bowl and a water bowl so that you can stop and refresh your kitten – you may also need to bring a litter box.

– Transport by air

If you live too far to come and collect your Scrumptious Ragdoll kitten then it can easily be flown to you. Flying kittens is really quite simple and not too stressful for the kitten. I have flown kittens all over the country before and have had no problems. If you live in the North Island then it will cost you $120.00 to fly your kitten to your closest airport. If you live in the South Island then it will cost you $198.00 to fly your kitten to your closest airport. You will also need to buy a flight safe carry cage which normally costs $60. Up to three kittens can fly in the same carry cage for the same price – so if you want two kittens it isn’t doubling the transport costs.

Once your Scrumptious Ragdoll Kitten arrives home, confine your kitten to one room with a litter tray, food, water & a comfortable bed & give your kitten some time to become familiar with their surroundings. Cats are fastidiously clean animals & it is necessary to make sure the food & water bowls need to be kept as far away from the litter tray as possible. Once the kitten is well settled, you can gradually increase the area your kitten can explore.
As Scrumptious Kittens are well adjusted to living with the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life they shouldn’t take long to feel comfortable in their new home with you and the rest of your family.

Let your new kitten settle in before you attempt to introduce it to other pets you have. The introduction needs to be slow and at the animal’s pace. Some pets will become firm friends almost immediately; however it is common for resident pets to be upset at the arrival of a new pet for weeks or even months. This is completely normal behaviour and needs to be met with sensitivity and understanding. The worst thing you can do is rush the situation.

– Your Dog(s)

Scrumptious Ragdoll Kittens are brought up with our wonderful Shiba Inu, Lulu, and often my mums three dogs come to visit (ranging in size from HUGE to tiny!) so they are used to dogs and aren’t afraid around them. Most dogs don’t mind cats so introducing your Scrumptious kitten to your dog(s) shouldn’t be a problem. A well socialised dog will easily accept a young kitten. Older dogs may be less tolerant, but a small scratch from your kitten will soon make them less aggressive and integration will generally take place quickly and without major problems. It’s best to just take it slow and closely supervise their first few times together.

– Your other Cat(s)

Scrumptious Ragdoll Kittens are very used to living with other cats and are great around them. Quite often an older cat won’t be very pleased with the presence of a kitten in their territory. Although some are fine and enjoy the new company!
A good trick is to rub your new kitten with a towel to impart her scent on it, and then put the towel in the sleeping area of your existing cat(s), so they’ll become accustomed to the kittens smell – before they even meet! Reverse the tactic by giving her a towel or blanket with the scent of your older cats. In a couple of days you can put her in a carrier and allow the other cats to come in and sniff her.
Soon– within a week or two, the bunch of them should settle down and be getting along just fine. The key is not to rush things, and to give both sides a lot of individual attention in the interim. In no time at all, your kitten will be part of your cat(s) ‘pride’.

Scrumptious Ragdoll Kittens are used to the outdoors and aren’t indoor only cats (unless you want/ need them to be). We have a safe sanctuary here for our kittens to grow up in – large property in the country – so our kittens dont have any worries about traffic outside our home. However every home is different. If you live by a dangerous road then we do recommend that you keep your Scrumptious Ragdoll kitten inside so that it stays safe. Don’t let your new kitten outside until it is completely comfortable in your home. Once you think that your kitten is ready you can let it out into a safe part of your garden /courtyard and keep a close eye on it. Do this for the first few outings. A few people like to build outdoor cat enclosures – this is a great way to let your cat outside safely. We always recommend that your Ragdoll is kept inside at night throughout its life.

Our Scrumptious Ragdoll kittens are feed on ‘Royal Canin’ baby cat and kitten biscuits as well as fresh fish, cooked boned chicken and mince. We always keep the biscuits available for the kittens as well as clean water and we feed them real food for their breakfast, lunch and dinner. As they get older they don’t need to be feed three times a day. If you do change your kittens diet you will need to do so gradually so your kitten doesn’t get an upset tum. I feed my kittens on a range of food so hopefully they will be really easy to feed.

Scrumptious Ragdolls are fully litter box trained before they leave here. We also train our kittens to use the garden during the day when they are outside. We use Pussy-Do cat litter in a deluxe litter box – which can be purchased from a lot of online websites and can be seen here.

All of my kittens come with a standard contract to ensure that you are happy with your kitten and that we are happy with you and your home. By buying a Truly Scrumptious Ragdoll Kitten you are agreeing to this contract:

Conditions of the Sale

1. Seller agrees that this kitten is healthy to the best of her knowledge. And comes from a DNA tested line free of HCM.
Seller agrees that she is the owner and has good and lawful authority to sell the above-described kitten/cat as PET ONLY.

2. Buyer has 72 hours to take the kitten to the vet for a health exam, if any health concerns are found, the buyer may return kitten to the seller within 72 hours with an explanation from the attending vet. No medical or travel charges will be refunded.

3. Under no circumstances will this cat or kitten be sold, leased or given away to any pet store, research laboratory, breeding mill or similar facility. If at any time the Buyer becomes unable to care for the kitten, Seller is given the right of first refusal.

4. This Kitten is sold as PET ONLY and MUST not be used for breeding. The cat will leave the breeder de-sexed before being homed.

5. This cat will be registered in NZCF (New Zealand Cat Fancy).

6. If this cat is sold with showing rights, it may be may be shown as long as it’s in good health and condition, and presented well groomed, and presents a temperament in agreement with the showhall. Temperament can never be guaranteed nor can size/type. If this cat has a temperament or type that does not hold up for show, it will not continue to be shown.

7. This kitten/cat will not be declawed.

8. The purchaser agrees to keep the seller/breeder informed of whereabouts of kitten/cat if the cat should move, to contact breeder with update on kitten/cat at regular intervals (i.e. 6 months, 1 year etc.) and send photos and updates to the breeder each 6 months for the first year, then yearly thereafter.

9. If the purchaser is found to be in violation of any of these terms and conditions, the breeder/seller retains the option to sue the purchaser in New Zealand, the country of residence of the breeder, for breach of contract and demand immediate return of the cat and possible kittens to the breeder.

As we only ever give our Scrumptious Ragdoll kittens the best they are always very healthy. We have had great comments from vets all over the country – one vet stating that he had never in his life seen a kitten so humanized and healthy!

Your Scrumptious Ragdoll kitten will come with its vet book which you can use to record its vaccinations, worming and de-fleaing updates.

Your Scrumptious Ragdoll Kitten will be up to date with its vaccinations and will have been treated for both internal and external parasites. Your kitten will also have been fully vet checked before leaving here.

As they are fully vet checked before leaving, we are confident that we are sending off a healthy kitten that will have no problems. If you are not happy with your Scrumptious kittens health, we will definitely take the kitten back, with full refund, providing you can prove a valid reason why your kittens health is not ok within three days of being with your kitten and we must have the kitten back within a week of it leaving our home.

Ragdolls are a semi-longhaired breed and despite their thick coat, Ragdolls lack a layer of under coat, and shed very little. Their coat is also rather low maintenance due to the factor that it is rather rabbit like and non-matting – However every Ragdoll is different – some Ragdolls can matt quite a bit – others only matt under the armpits or during coat changes due to seasonal changes in the weather – and other Ragdolls do not really matt at all. Sometimes it is nice to give your Ragdoll the occasional brush anyway to remove any loose hair and your Ragdoll will enjoy the attention and time with you immensely.

Scrumptious Ragdoll kittens don’t tend to use their claws at all and clipping is almost never necessary. However if you do want to clip your kittens claws you must do so very carefully. Firstly you must hold your kitten securely (although your ragdoll kitten probably won’t struggle anyway!) and then push down on your kittens paw pads to reveal their claws – when you clip them you have to be very careful only to cut the very tip off – if you cut too much of the claw you will hurt your kitten, it will bleed and you will need to contact a vet for advice. There are lots of help tutorials on cutting your kittens claws online – so you can find plenty of help there and shouldn’t have any trouble.

Your Scrumptious Ragdoll Kitten will come de-sexed. Our vet will only de-sex the kittens when they are completely ready and big enough. The operation is very quick and they tend to bounce back extremely quickly getting it done at a young age.
